Background
Sometime ago between sixteen years and the 15th century, a child was born in the forests of Yakushima. This was not all that unusual as children were often born in the forests of Yakushima, it was prime baby making territory with few distractions of an urban settlement beyond the occasional hiker, ronin, or snake. It was slightly less usual that the newborn child was left alone in the woods, but was by no means an uncommon occurrence especially with the way that young parents were then. The truly unusual thing was when the newborn was found by an oni lurking in the woods and rather than making a quick meal of the defenseless infant, in a display of uncharacteristic buddhist compassion the child was brought to live amongst the spirits of the forest.
Life in the forest was idyllic and generally free of thought beyond finding something interesting to do or something interesting to eat. Companionship was easy enough between the various species of megafauna and spirits that inhabit a primordial forest. The Yokai of the forest were a very caring foster family, trying their best to raise something incredibly alien and strange to them. Eventually the spirits decided that Genji needed a real education in the mortal world, lest he become truly strange and unable to function in the odd land of his own species. So cobbling together the various treasures and ancient currencies they had been saving, they paid the proper bribes to officials to make the boy a legal citizen and skip entrance fees into high school.
Two weeks ago, marine biologists reported an unusually dense group of sea turtles heading north which was strange for the migratory patterns of turtles during early spring. Two days later, shipping channels in the Tokyo Bay were clogged due to an unheard of number of sea turtles flooding the harbor. Onlookers reported seeing what was one Urashima Taro shaking hands with a red haired man dressed in edo period noble's garb and carrying with him an ancient silk furoshiki. A week later, an exam proctor for Kenshiro Hayabusha Highschool was hospitalized but refused to name the reason he was attacked in the official police report. Aka Genjiro was added to the roster of second year class C.
Somewhere in the wilderness, something stirs.
Personality
Having very little history, power, or respect to go along with his name Genji is an uncomplicated man that is passionate about the simple things in life. This simple minded nature is both his greatest weakness and perhaps his greatest strength (excluding the near infinite physical strength he also displays). He is unconcerned with the ramifications of his actions and shows a single minded purpose once he puts his mind toward a decision. On the other hand, his single minded nature makes him stubborn, inflexible, and unable to deal with new situations.
Hot blooded by nature and upbringing, he can be a very belligerent individual even towards good friends. Befriending him is a challenge and taken in a similar manner to how one befriends a tiger or a bear, except instead of an endless hunger for human flesh there is a bottomless pit of ambition and instead of claws there are friendship speeches (which are arguably worse than lacerations). Even with these obvious personality flaws, Genji is a devoted friend the kind that you could rely on to break into a turkish prison for you during a mid-season filler arc climax.

Personages of Import
Ao: Oni. Distinctively feminine as far as ogres go. Ao is the closest thing to a mother that Genji has and he cherishes her greatly from the ability to crush mountains with an eyelash to ripping apart the tethers of gravity with a whim. Ao is also the oni that originally picked up the infant Genji all those years away and spirited him away to live with his new family. Contrary to what her name implies, Ao is not blue but actually grey and the color coding of ogres is racist. Likes drinking, baths, and children.
Yoshi: Inugami. Though he appears to be a dark black whippet to the common observer, Yoshi is in fact a near divine canine spirit. He claims to be the one that originally lost the dog's ability to speak and that is why he has no friends of his own species. Enjoys chocolate and women's undergarments.
Momoiro: Biwa-Bokuboku. A hundred year old instrument of no real fame at all. Not actually a biwa at all, he claims to have been created before his time and is in fact a visionary of contemporary musical trends. He refuses to appear to people in his actual instrument form until he has found a talented musician (who is also beautiful) to play him. Enjoys internet dating websites and downloading MP3s illegally.
Granny: Tsuchigumo. Spiders have been scary to people for a very long time and Granny has been around just as long as people have been mysteriously dying at night because they rolled over on something small and skittery. She used to be very beautiful and have many hundreds of husbands but those were the glory days, these days she looks after Genji and sighs wistfully for the days of luring young men into her home and devouring them. She is the only independently wealthy youkai in the group and nobody wants to know where she is getting the funds from. Likes young men and daytime soap operas.
Takai + Nagai: Ashi-Naga-Te-Naga. Takai (Long arms) and Nagai (Long Legs) Claim they were once architects for the imperial palace but their sibling caused a terrible breach of social contract and as such they will never be paid their commission for the grand scale of their design. Mostly they stay home at the apartment and complain about the ineffectual usage of space that modern architects and designers are utilizing. They enjoy drinking (Nagai) and smoking (Takai).
Complications
Hayseed: Country living is considered something of a lower form of life by most youth of today, comparable to being a slightly lower form of life or just not human at all. Not to mention everybody hates your accent and nobody cooks the best part of the deer in the city.
Hot Blooded: Hot Blood is a strength and a weakness and a medical condition.

Convictions:
*Enjoy Big City Living! [1]
* Sure, it smells funny and there are all kinds of dangerous new people lurking around every corner but it is so interesting. There are so many new foods to eat and buildings that don't leak at all in the rain, this is the kind of life that somebody could really get used to living.
- Find His Family [2]
- Well they probably aren't in Tokyo, only a complete idiot would come to a strange and foreign town hoping to coincidently stumble across their parents. Finding out who they were or what happened to them is good enough for Genji.
- Friends Deserve Protection [2]
- Genji will theoretically probably die for you.
- Believe In Your Own Justice [2]
- Everyone has the potential for great justice serving capabilities in their lives. It just takes a special somebody beating up something bigger, stronger, and more threatening than them in front of them to make them realize it.
- YOUKAI ARE PEOPLE TOO! [2]
- No seriously they are.
Powers
- Six Demon Bag (U, 3/die) 3hd
- Useful Extras: Controlled Effect +1, Endless +3, Indestructible +2
- Useful Flaws: Depleted -1, Focus -1, If/Then (Only Demons, Spirits, and Ghoooosts) -1 ,Irreplaceable -2
- Activating this power, Genji can trap up to six spirits within this bag. Creatures trapped in this bag may attempt to escape by making an opposed Body + Brawling skill versus a 3x10 set. Now forcing them to do anything once they're in there is another problem entirely.
- Stubborn Like a Nurikabe (U, 4/die) 5hd
- Useful Extras: Engulf +2, Permanent +4
- Useful Flaws: Always On -1, Self-Only -3
- Genji has learned from the best, a brick wall. He has 5 extra wound boxes on each hit location.
- HIT LIKE AN ONI! (Raised By Spirits Skill) (2/die)
- Hyperskill Extras: Power Capacity (Mass) +2, Daze +1
- Hyperskill Flaws: If/Then (not with other Spirit Skill Enhancements) -1
- Genji has learned from the best when it comes to being monstrously disgustingly strong. Victims hit by this skill suffer from knock back and lose width in dice from their dice pool next round.
- HOTBLOODED SHONEN VENGEANCE RAGE (Raised By Spirits Skill) (2/die)
- Hyperskill Extras: +6 Attacks Quality, Sprays +1d
- Hyperskill Flaws: Exhausted -3, Full Power Only -1, If/Then (Friend Must Be In Mortal Peril!!!) -1, If/Then (not with other Spirit Skill Enhancements) -1
- Genji flips the fuck out.
- MANO-A-MANO! (D D U) 4/die – 3hd
