Background
Long ago, in a far away land (Well, Germany), there was a little girl born and named for her Mother's mother, Hisoka. Hisoka grew up there, on her family's orange orchard, and was always a sweet girl. Her mother taught her to love all things, and to treat everything with kindness…and the lesson stuck. From a young age, Hisoka showed and extraordinary artistic talent, and spent most of her time drawing…when she wasn't helping people out. She would always do errands for anyone who happened to ask her, and sometimes even when they didn't. The only complaint there ever was, was that Hisoka had a tendency to get a bit lost in her daydreams. Little things, like spacing out when someone was talking to her, or in the middle of a crosswalk, or when sent to go fetch something.
When she was 15, Hisoka accidentally made the sun rise. Four hours early. When her mother found her, covered in ink, she explained an old family secret—they were the reincarnations of Amaterasu. Her powers signaled she was the current reincarnation, and should go to Japan, the land she was meant to protect. Hisoka agreed to study hard and transfer to a high school in Japan. It took her a little while to learn better Japanese, and so she tranferred in the midst of her second year. Once there, she resumed her old ways of helping out everyone she could…surely, this country could learn to appreciate the majesty of well-grown oranges as well, while she was here.
People of Importance
Iseshima Mari - Hisoka's mother. While her grandmother had been the previous incarnation of Amaterasu, Mari was never bitter about not gaining those powers. After all, being normal meant she could fall in love and move to Germany to grow oranges, a chance she would never have gotten if she'd been bound to protect Japan. She worries how Hisoka is adjusting in the land of the rising sun, and sends her monthly care packages…always including a crate of oranges.
Wolfgang Gottschalk - Hisoka's father never did really understand the reincarnation deal, but he does know that duty is of great importance. He's a stern man, although he has always been loving to his wife and daughter. He taught his only child well the importance of a diet rich in vitamin C, and the horrors of scurvy.
